London in the Springtime

By Rob Packer

Magnolia buds are falling, creating a carpet of white petals that wouldn’t look out of place in a saccharine music video (maybe Mariah Carey or Cantopop). Rhododendron flowers open and splash Himalayan colour over English gardens. Daffodils and tulips appear; bees hover into sight; the crocus and snowdrop are long gone.

This says a fair bit about English gardening, but probably has a lot more to do with David Hockney’s eye for the changes in seasons and a very English giddiness over the sustained sunny days.

Enjoy the photos!
